Processes of CPD Service Provision

Since the establishment of the regional laboratory training activities were included in its operational and strategic plan as one of the activities undertaken by capacity building processes and annually the number of health working participating in the in service training is increasing. After being recognized as the accredited In-service training center since June 2010EC in the country by Ministry of Health of Ethiopia, the regional laboratory training center working hard to improve the quality of in-service trainings in the organization and planning to be the model of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) center. While cascading the training the team of health professionals studied medical laboratory sciences, Nurses of different category, Clinicians and Pharmacists were participated in the training and different categories of trainings were covered using interactive lecture, group discussion, role play and clinical practice modalities as per narrated in the CPD guidelines and directives and approved training courses.

Experts of Adama PHRRLC, Oromia Regional Health Bureau, Ministry of Health and University lectures were invited using training pool and facilitated the training and this give us an experience of being acting as Continuing Professional Development Center. The participants of the training are based on need assessment and gap identified while super vision and mentoring and program initiatives. The training hall has forty seats and able to accommodate twenty five to thirty targeted participants at a time and a minimum of necessary training facilities like demonstration room, accredited laboratories, internet services are also available in our CPD Center. In addition pre-planning of the training event on approved CPD Courses is made and while cascading the training, the participant’s information is recorded, reviewed and reported to concerned body.
